Bachelor Degree: Theology and Religion Education

These days more and more people are deciding that they are interested in studying theology or religion education. It is not a requirement that you have some sort of faith background in order to study either of these, you just have to be someone who is interested in learning more about how others might practice their religion. Theology

Depending on the discipline you want to follow you will be entered into a program that takes three to five years. Paths to this degree involve course work in Hebrew or Greek. If you want to learn about systematic theology, biblical theology, ethics, homiletics, or just Christian ministry then the theology degree can offer you that education. This is also a degree that you will have to get if you plan on becoming ordained as a priest. However, you can just get the degree if it is something that interests you.

Religion Education

This is an undergraduate degree option. If you want a broader education in scripture and theology then this is where you can get it. This is primarily the education that is sought out by those who want to become a teacher. This bachelor degree has many of options for how you can go on with your life after your education, including writing, media, counseling, law, and business. This is your option if you want to learn a lot of different subject, and not just study one particular area of religion education. Give it a look.

What Can I Do With This?

If you want to go out to become a priest then you will have to have some degree in theology. However, you can get a theology or religion education degree and just work in the community. Many teachers decide that this is the area of study that they want to teach, and that is what drives them to get this type of education. Some people do not even go into that field of work at all, it is just what interested them in college.
